Key dates
- 31 March – the Australian Government publicly releases NPI facility data for the preceding year
- 1 July – the NPI reporting period commences on 1 July for each year for most reporters
- 30 September – reporting facilities provide information on the previous reporting period to the state or territory environment agency in its jurisdiction
- 31 December – state and territory environment agencies review all NPI reports for accuracy and forward the data to the Australian Government
Tenth reporting year 2007–08 and subsequent reporting periods
From the commencement of the tenth reporting period (1 July 2007–30 June 2008) industry will be required to report on 93 substances and their transfers of waste.
Reporting facilities are only required to report if industry reporting materials have been published on this website (www.npi.gov.au)
Fourth to ninth reporting years 2002–2007
From the commencement of the fourth reporting period (1 July 2001–30 June 2002), industry was required to report on 90 NPI substances.
First three reporting years 1998–2001
- First reporting year was from 1 July 1998–30 June 1999
- Second reporting year was from 1 July 1999–30 June 2000
- Third reporting year was from 1 July 2000–30 June 2001
For these reporting periods,industry was required to report against the NPI list of 36 substances.
